a new funding model

Non-government organisations (NGOs) in Cambodia usually look for financial support from large international donors. International aid can be generous, but their support is necessarily time limited.

Also, because international funds are limited, NGOs in Cambodia have to compete with each other. A more sustainable funding model is for Cambodians to look out for each other. Cooperating to raise funds locally in partnership with Cambodians offers a brighter future for Cambodia.

sharing and caring for people with disabilities

Fundraising for disability assistance (Furada) is a new initiative. Together with Marist Solidarity Cambodia (formerly Yodifee), Komar Pikar Foundation and CABDICO, CDMD has joined this coalition.

Each of member works to uphold and honour the rights of people with disabilities in Cambodia. All four NGOs share mutual respect and support each other; they do not duplicate each other’s work. With more than half a million people with disabilities living in Cambodia, there is a great need for the work that each coalition partner does.

Furada was established in order to coordinate the raising of funds locally to support the four NGOs working with/for people with disabilities in Cambodia.
